I have:

a clean house

a clean dog

a clean mind... okay, maybe not, but that's because [personal profile] sheafrotherdon (by way of [personal profile] winterlive, by way of John Russo's About Face project) posted this, and really, what can you do?

In other news: meme!

Since everything in my immediate vicinity is rather shiny and refreshed, I figure there will never be a better time to do that photos-o-stuff meme that pops up periodically. I can't remember the exact wording of it, but if there's something that strikes your fancy, let me know and I'll try and snap a picture of it.

And now, I am going to bask in candlelight and attempt to write something. There are worse ways to spend an evening, I suppose. *g*

Fair warning: coherence? *dies laughing* Mostly, this is just an excuse to abuse the word 'oh' and the italics button.

Anybody who hasn't done so yet, go read [personal profile] xparrot's Games of Chance.

It's... yeah. I left feedback that is about as eloquent as a brain-damaged slug, but I take solace in the fact that I can blame it on general story awesomeness. It takes about five of my favorite things in the universe and weaves them all together in gorgeous, breathless ways. I refuse to tell you what those five things are, because it's so much better if you figure them out for yourself, but I dare you to read this without racing your heart to the finish line.

(And while there is no pairing listed, my OTP little soul was not in any way unhappy. Just so you know. Plus, our team = love here. So, basically, it's very much like an episode, if they had the time and license to be this overwhelmingly cool.)

In short: go read this story right now, because it's brilliant and tense and her Rodney is fantastic.

I might have written something for [personal profile] sheafrotherdon's Just Propose Already!! festival, in case anyone wanted to go have a look. Really, you should boogie on over there anyway; there's some fairly adorable stuff for your reading pleasure.

(And yes, I know it's not the 29th anymore. Hush.)

Finally saw it. Do I even need to suggest there will be spoilers?

Now I can go find out what other people thought. Fandom! Whee!

Look! Feet! Wet feet! Mine, I mean... although, come to think of it, everybody else in here probably has them at some stage, too.

Fandom: SGA
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard implied, but mostly team gen
Rating: G
Spoilers: basically everything up to Be All My Sins Remember'd
Summary: It's been a long year.

Two things:
1. Anyone up for a short beta on something SG:A-oriented? I almost said, "a quick beta", but that gives the wrong impression, as I'm not on any deadline. It probably shouldn't take long, though, given that it's... well, short. (Unless I've really screwed up. This is always a possibility.) It contains 2,000ish words, spoilers for pretty much everything up to Be All My Sins Remember'd, and a great deal of team. Any takers?

Note to self: red wine and brownies = red wine and chocolate and sugar = a really good way to get a headache going.

So worth it, though. I spent the afternoon marathoning SG:A Season 2 with [personal profile] krisomniac   (who is just as fantastically fun as you'd think) and having a blast. I hadn't seen most of the eps in a very long time, and it's amazing the stuff that strikes a chord in hindsight. For instance...

Tonight, I watched Stardust.

Now I need to go reread. Or maybe sleep. Although... what I really want to do is watch it again.

Tomorrow, I will bake gingerbread cookies for the neighborhood and do writerly things. Yay for vacation.

More than a year and thirty-odd pages later, I think this thing may finally be done. As a bonus, it might even be coherent this time. Any of you up for telling me whether that's just wishful thinking?

What, you want actual details? Oh, fine then. It's SG:A, John/Rodney, and going on 12,000 words. Some of you might even have seen it before, back when it was going by the name Inhibitions. (Which it still kind of is.)

So, any takers? Please?

Bit 1: To whoever nominated Linguistics for the McKay/Sheppard Awards... Thank you! *hug* As usual, I'm running a day late and many dollars short in saying so, but it made my week to find out about that one. So, thanks. *g*

Bit 2: I'm off to the Ancestral Home tomorrow afternoon, critters in tow. Should be an interesting drive. We'll see how far we get before the chaos sets in.

Bit 3: As a corollary to Bit 2, just in case I don't get back here between now and then, hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, those that will be having one. (Those that won't should still have a great day, just because.)

I am somewhat addicted to list form lately. Sorry.

7. I want to write stuff. Why is it I always most want to write stuff when I have the least time to actually do it? Bah.

8. And lastly, I've got my rambles about Doppelganger unlocked over here now.

Follow me on a wandering list of joy - you know, if you want to - because the glee has got to go somewhere.

Hi all. Updating from school because I've got an hour to kill before lab, and that's just not enough time to get anything else done.

And on the subject of Numb3rs: *glees tremendously*

Someone else please write what we all know needs to be written, yes? I have the feeling that the version slowly taking shape on my harddrive should never see the light of day, because oh, boy, so self-indulgent. Yeah.

And now I must go look at dead things. Scientifically, of course.
stillane: (Default)

Dude. Why did no one tell me that I needed to see The Tao of Rodney in order to live long and happily?

Because he... and then they... and then they all just... Boom. That is the sound of my heart breaking, and stitching itself back together in 3.2 seconds. Just... whoa.

Who wrote that, and what line do I need to get in to have their babies?
stillane: (Default)

One possible spoiler for the Canadian SGA bounty, but it is both sideways and small. Really. If you get it, you've probably seen it.

stillane: (Default)

Oh. My. God.

*flails self into coma*

There has to be something in there that didn't work for me. Must have been, right? I could probably dredge it up if my brain were still intact.

I... yeah. Coherent stuff later. Maybe.

Holy fuck.
stillane: (Default)
So, yes, I am fully aware that all of this has already been said by all of you brilliant people who manage to watch in a timely manner. Also, I need to see it again. This is just me babbling about the love.

Just a quick series of missing bits from The Pegasus Project before I go back to answering my lovely prompts. My apologies if this ground has already been covered; I've been very bad with the reading lately.

Fandom: SGA
Pairing: McKay/Sheppard
Rating: PG
Spoilers: The Pegasus Project
Feedback: Will be hugged like a puppy. Even if it bites.
