Note to self: red wine and brownies = red wine and chocolate and sugar = a really good way to get a headache going.

Ow.

So worth it, though. I spent the afternoon marathoning SG:A Season 2 with [personal profile] krisomniac   (who is just as fantastically fun as you'd think) and having a blast. I hadn't seen most of the eps in a very long time, and it's amazing the stuff that strikes a chord in hindsight. For instance...

Sheppard tells Cadman in Duet that she's just experienced his worst nightmare, being inside Rodney's head. Oh, John. Just wait. Heh.

Tonight, I watched Stardust.

Oh. Oh, that was lovely. I'm guessing it's taken some flack for the changes, but honestly, so much happy. The end of the original broke my heart rather a lot - intentionally so, of course -  and I didn't want to be hurt like that tonight. So, yeah... no complaints.

Robert De Niro. Heh. Plus, Charlie Cox is... yes. Really nice to look at. Really. And adorable. I might have something of a crush. I fell a little bit in love with Tristan the first time I read the novel, and that hasn't diminished at all having now met him.

They called the Making Of documentary Good Omens. Hee. Also, the line "... suddenly we were going to be in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Fairies" is awesome. Oh, Gaiman. I might be able to ignore the travesty that I fear is coming in your Beowulf because of this.

Now I need to go reread. Or maybe sleep. Although... what I really want to do is watch it again.

Tomorrow, I will bake gingerbread cookies for the neighborhood and do writerly things. Yay for vacation.

I'm very wary of Beowulf, but I've been meaning to see Stardust... I'll have to nick that.

Also, I want some red wine and brownies. Shopping list for tomorrow. *mwahaha*

I have heard scary things about the Beowulf. *shudders*

Stardust, though, is absolutely worth it. Robert De Niro alone is just... well, fabulous. *g*

Also, add ibuprofen to your list, preventatively. In my case, my mom's exact words were, "You dumb shit." Affectionately, of course. Only my mom. *g*

Hehe. I love your family.

Anyway, I have ibuprofen and I got some Pinot Noir. I just have to whip up some brownies now *cackle*

It so was. I can't believe it didn't draw more of a following. I'm so out of touch with school that I barely register anything; was it not promoted well, or something?

I'm broke as all heck these days, but I might have to buy this one. It's bound to get rewatched whenever I need warm, adventurous fuzzies. *g*

I loved Stardust! (Actually, the only thing I didn't like about the movie was that they made the ending happier than in the book. *is weird*)

Hee. Yep, that's what I figured the main criticism would be. I'm just enough of a wimp to want the purely happy version onscreen, so it didn't bother me, but I can understand why it would others. It's a cheat, of course, but like I said... wimp. *g*
