What. The. Fuck?

My laptop just attempted to set me on fire. It started making the weird bad fan noise which I've been afraid was coming for months at around 9:00, and then at about midnight the power cord began to smoke. While in bed with me. (No jokes, please.)

Then it melted its covering, just behind its little magnetic head. I am now running on the power equivalent of fumes.

I'm going to try to find the nearest Apple Store tomorrow afternoon and make them help me by force, since apparently Apple does not have 24 hour support. (Ask me how thrilled I am about that one, btw.)

So, um. If you don't hear from me for a few days, it is because my computer is trying to assassinate me. Yeah.

*still needs a WTF? icon*

That definitely qualifies for an all caps EEP!

Um. I dunno, I'm not so much with the knowing what's going on there, but good luck! *crosses fingers*

(not even a teesny joke?)

You know, the really funny thing? I very nearly appended that with, "[livejournal.com profile] feartheotter, this means you." *g*

All is - hopefully - well now. Or, well, nothing's on fire or screaming dementedly, so that's improvement. They replaced a fan and a cord and said, "Wa-la!" so I'm cautiously optimistic.

And I suppose you can be allowed one or two puns. I reserve the right, however, to make wincy faces. *g*

(Psst. This is the night of the concert, yes? Have fun.)

Hehe. Alright. I can't think of any puns right now because of a slightly inebriated post-concert state, but I reserve the right ;)

And I did :D

*nods frantically* I whole-heartedly endorse that sentiment. I am too young to be crispy, and who would feed my dog?

Luckily, the Apple people seem to be in agreement, and I think it's back together and less hazardous now. *g*

Something similar happened to me. I left my computer on my bed, and when I went back to it, it was running off the battery. 'That's weird,' I thought, 'it's plugged in.' Then I realised that the whole laptop felt rather...hot, and when I turned it around to look at the connection, sparks shot out the back. I turned everything off, and when I looked at the cord, the wire had a gash in it right below where it connects to the computer. Fortunately I had 24 hour support, but trying to explain what had happened to the guy on the phone was rather amusing. *g*

If your computer succeeds in assassinating you, we'll all take revenge on Apple. ;)

You win. I did not have sparks. *is slightly jealous*

I'm just boggled that they do this. I mean, I know intellectually that it's a piece of technology, just as prone as any other to randomly defecting, but still. I tend to think the worst thing my laptop can do is crash, not try and take me down with it. *blinks*

This made me cackle like a loon. I had visions of the fangirl militia decending in force on that little glowing symbol. Leads to a whole new definition of flamewars. Heh. Thank you.

Thanks. It seems to be fixed now, luckily. I was freaking out when they kept it yesterday with the ominous words, "Five to seven days." My huge, sad eyes and whimperings about SG:A and Supernatural must have had some effect, though; they called today to say I could come get it. Thus far, no smoke or screaming, so... *fingers crossed*

Also, the Scrubs icon cracks me up. I average about 3 J.D. moments a day. *g*

Sorry, I can't comment because now, I've got this idea of a wee laptop in my head, plotting ways to kills you and stalking you down streets with a knife on little laptop leggies and jumping off the kitchen worktops *descends into incoherent giggles*

*giggles with you* Oh, man. That's bad. My brain adds in musical accompaniment, too. Something along the lines of the Pink Panther theme, or maybe Secret Agent Man. *g*
