Oh, and because I utterly fail at life:
Dec. 27th, 2006 01:11 amHappy holidays, just a little late. Hope everyone's festivities were/are wonderful, and that the coming new year is just as grand.
(So, what did you do, anyway? I slept, ate, and communed with Jimmy Stewart. What more do you need?)

Date: 2007-01-04 06:25 am (UTC)Glad it was... uh, interesting?
Also, I seem to recall there being pictures of spreading flames showing up periodically in your domain. Not being in the right country to see relevant broadcasts, did that ever turn out okay? Is it continuing to be worrisome? Are you intact?

*dying of heat stroke* Great googles it is 8pm and still 115. Gonna be something stupid like 118 tomorrow.
Yes. Well. The fires are still not quite out, but in the grand tradition of insane weather... where the fires were (in the highlands/mountains) ... it snowed. The middle of SUMMER and it snowed. On bushfires. Yes, the face you are making is the one I was making.
They have had quite a lot of rain (as in some, compared to none) but the fear is .. of course that in this current bout of sweltering heat it will reignite. Probably will.
Only lost... 980,000 hectares. :P Luckily burnt south, away from my parent's. We (down south) got smothered in smoke though. When I say smothered I mean visibility of about three metres. Mmmmmm tasty.

Date: 2007-01-04 11:09 pm (UTC)Not that I'm bucking for anything above 100, but I wouldn't mind another 30 degrees or so, before too long. I don't think I was meant to live in places where there is winter. Which explains, of course, why I keep heading to northern climes for educational purposes. *headdesk* Glutton for punishment, that's me.
Hope the firey predictions are mistaken, and that you get some fresh air in there instead. I can't imagine the smoke is good for you, being under the weather to begin with. (And yes, I did totally type that in all sincerity, and only catch the enormously dorky pun on the re-read.) *g*
