So, if one were contemplating going to Shore Leave, how would one go about it? Say, for instance, that said one had never been to a con, and hadn't got a clue how to find someone to room with, etc.?

One way might be to peruse the dGeek forums? There's a Shore Leave thread on there, and there might be LJ people who are looking for room-mates?

I know nothing about Shore Leave, and am probably therefore totally useless. But I support you going to cons, and can give you general sort of con info/primers/advice if you find yourself needing it.

Any and all advice on cons in general would earn you cookies and/or potential porn. I know pretty much nothing about this one, myself, other than that it's within reach and will be hosting both Hewletts and Adam Baldwin. The awesomeness of that combination, though... *glees*
