Or, well, I'll get to it by the end, anyway.  In the meantime,  what I've been up to:

1. Averting homicide, a.k.a. working on a presentation with my group for class. Note to self: do not henceforth agree to a topic on which one member feels very strongly, or at least not one that that member feels very strongly about. Thankfully, we got through it with no bloodshed, and even managed to turn the fact that we are renowned for loud disagreement into entertainment during the presentation. I know of a few groups that adore each other, and a few groups that despise each other, but ours is unique. We fight like... I'm not going to say it, because the cliche police will hunt me down, but we fight messily, and yet at the end of the day there's a weird kind of affection among us.

2. Wondering just how bad I look on a daily basis. I will be the first to admit that I'm not big on the everyday girlyisms; on a good day, it's a sweater and slightly trendier jeans, most likely with wildly chaotic semi-curly hair. We all dressed up for today, though, and no fewer than five people commented on how nice I looked. On the one hand, yay! Compliments! On the other... they all sounded really surprised. Huh. *raises eyebrow*

3. Finals. Next week. Ew.

I have no skills with... programs, but I am vastly amused and largely disturbed that as a name I am 'Villers Bretonneux.' Bring on bloody battles of WWI. A title I am 'be frightened by absurdities' (the full quote as actually about how to be a philosopher one must not be so frightened of them) ... and the cover was a drake.

Pfft, not everyone has to dress to the nines everyday of the year. terribly hard work and many have much better things to do with their time. I am sure you are lovely in all states.

Drake as in duck? Combined with your title, that's a little awesome. What is more random than a duck?

True. *nods* At least here there's a large population of people who care just as little as I do. We have the usual fashion conscious set, but they're heavily augmented by fleece and boots (mostly out of necessity). Plus, cow-stained coveralls are the great equalizer. *g*

Indeed, drake as in duck. A very happy, well fed looking duck on some blue water. It was making me sort of boggle what with my memories of photos of the aftermath of Villers Bretonneux (never keep a good aviation enthusiast historian down by failing to know things) ... totally random. lol

Don't frustrated classical musicians tend to go jazz? I think it would be more entertaining if they were punk, or perhaps frustrated western classical musicians gone japanese noise. Only I feel that the album title is too.. nice for that.

(I did mean to thank you for the music btw, gorgeous, gorgeous sounds .. and hey look, now I have working speakers to go with it all!)

Someone told me the other day that I was all fashion conscious or some such thing.. much to their horror they hadn't realised I've had pretty much the same clothes for the last 10 or more years. Not my fault I can mend!! Gah, wearing a dress does not make me well dressed.. just means it is over 110F :P

*snerk* cow-stains make everyone equal, I will agree. There ain't no flip skirts and sandals when with cows, unless you are fond of dirty legs and squashed toes. So does mud and other interesting accoutrement from farms and animals. Mind you I still refuse jeans .. hurts!
