I have been there, myself, in less ordered fashion. *g* A friend and I once set out to do Salvation Army bell-ringing and thought we'd liven the experience up a bit with carols. You can guess where this is going. I think we drew a crowd more for our comedy routine than our singing.

1. Yes. Never until this year, but it seems to be quite different since I set up permanent housekeeping elsewhere and the Kid went off to school herself. It's not necessarily a bad different, but different it is. It's more like it's the parents' house and we're all visiting, although there's still the odd familiarity of old routine. Strange.

3. My phone answer-ability is spotty while home, due to the interference of family and... well, physical interference (damned cell tower issues), but I'll keep the dratted machine on. In the meantime, hope your holiday was fantastic. :)
