Follow me on a wandering list of joy - you know, if you want to - because the glee has got to go somewhere.

Okay, first off: eeeeeeeeeee!!!

Ahem. Now that we've got that out of the way.

This whole thing is brain candy. Like, frighteningly meta-filled little nuggets of character. Oh, wow.

Stuff I loved:

- Anti!Vancouver. We have ferns, this season. See, all different. Hee.

- Did I mention the meta? "It's almost as if someone in a warm, cozy room typing at their computer sent us here for their own amusement."

Um. Yeah. Heh.

- "Forty-two." *geekgasm*

- "You have a bet riding on this, don't you?" I love that this comes from Teyla. This wouldn't be surprising from John, or from Ronon, but from Teyla... It's nicely relaxed. A step up from the usual eyeroll of tolerant amusement.

- John touches something glowy. Bad things happen. Seriously, anyone know what Rob Cooper's screen name is? Also, when he got with the program?

- Ronon hauls McKay around, and McKay doesn't actually protest. The overall idea of leaving, yeah, but not the manhandling. Go, touchyfeely team!

- The way they all meet up for breakfast like this is the norm. Also, the way they sit around discussing their dreams over said breakfast. It's cozy.

- Oh, boy. Moby Dick. The idea that Rodney has always had nightmares involving the ocean, and what lies under it, and that he keeps going back to face that fear. What is with him and watery death, anyway?

- The fantastic way each dream sequence is very firmly from a specific character's point of view, and that each one is timed so that the reveal that it is a dream is coded to the exact moment you figure out who's point of view it is.

- That scene in the infirmary where Ronon's got a knock on the noggin and Sheppard is floating around in the background... Sheppard is creepy there. And he's perfectly normal, it's just the context screwing with your head. *shivers*

- Oh, Ronon. Oh.

- I love that Ronon's evil!John directly channels possessed!John from The Long Goodbye.

- Ronon being a gentleman despite himself, in the odd little moments where it peeks through, never fails to hit me in the chest. That little, "I'm sorry"... ow.

- "... and then I was eaten by a whale." *snort*

- Um. Not that I want to be spoiled if it's a big plot point, but... is Chuck toast? Not that I don't like the new guy, I do, just... Chuck. *fears*

- Hellooooo, Lorne. Bare feet look good on you, especially with that frazzled expression and the Sheppard hair. You might want to put the gun down, though. It's kind of hard for anyone to get near enough to molest you.

- "Did I have a goatee?" Heh. No, John, you have not been Ba'al-ed. You can pull off maniacal clean-shaven.

- The shoulder pat makes the science team reference more than just flipping Rodney's words back on him. It makes it an acknowledgment of fact, too. Aw.

- Have rock hammer, will travel.

- I like the layering of "Oh, crap... she's going to touch it" tension with background exposition. Nicely done.

- Kate. Oh. I did not in any way see that coming. Even when Teyla was standing there with her, I thought it would be fixable. This show... oh, this show.

- John and Teyla in his doorway. Yeah.

- When they were zooming in on the person carrying the entity, I was thinking, "You know, this would be perfect if it were Rodney."

And then it was.

And from here on out, it is all glee. Pure, unadulterated glee. Especially:

- John freaking out on the observation deck.

- Sam being a better interior decorator than Elizabeth. *is surprisingly disloyal*

- The team pulling together in full pack fashion. Yes.

- John getting pissy with Sam. Oh, yeah.

- "I'm pretty screwed up" would have been fantastic all on its own, but the tone of their whole exchange is perfect. There's that fatalistic-but-sweet thing that only Hewlett really ever manages to do with his voice, and I cave every time for that.

- The boat. The boat. The fact that what Rodney finds scariest of all is the combination of being exiled from Atlantis and left to his own childhood fears. The rowing. The clown. Heh.

- And then the bit that made me stop breathing for a while. Whoa. There is no way to really cover John's reaction. Just... none. Flanigan, I <3 you hugely.

- The way Rodney knows it's an energy beasty, and yet still looks like it's killing him to watch something with John's face in pain.

- The fact that they both expected their nightmares to involve more hot girls. Um, guys?

- The Look after they wake up.

- That soft, soft lullaby of an ending.

So, yeah. I'll just be over here continuing to jitter - possibly in my sleep.

*loves you back*

but couldn't quite articulate it in my own brain.

I know what you mean. I watched it the first time and thought, But it's too early for another dream. It can't be. And yet... that man is ooky. *shiver* And then I watched it a bunch more times and thought, No, really. Ooky.

I love that they made us Teyla with the unwillingly being sincerely freaked out by him. My POV-loving heart is so full. *g*
