Post-episode commentary! For Numb3rs, at that, which is like a double whammy.

I've said it before, and will likely say it again: Edgerton rocks like the coolest teeter-totter you ever did see.

Also, Colby + David + chase scenes of nonchalant badassery = awesome.

I could comment on how neatly in character the home invasion plotline played out: Alan being the normal, well adjusted human being; Charlie seeing a personal issue arise... and leaving a dust cloud; Don sighing and picking up the slack, and just maybe gloating gleefully about it, just a little.

I could mention that I thought RangerWife was going to be a love interest for Colby, prior to discovering that she was RangerWife. (And, because I am a slasher at heart, I could also mention that David thought so, too. Check out the generally-victim-friendly Sinclair break up the quiet moment between his partner and the pretty blond with absolutely no tact whatsoever. I laughed, and my family looked at me funny. What they don't know won't hurt them.)

I could say that I also cackled when Edgerton walked on screen and blatantly gave Don the once-over. No, sniperman, gifts of miscellaneous but important plane debris will not win you back into the good graces of Don Eppes. For that, you must lie to federal investigators. Thankfully, you are like a gloriously violent boyscout, and are prepared.

I could say that it fascinates me that there are so many different moral settings on the same network within the law enforcement spectrum. Not necessarily that different shows have their characters do varying levels of ambiguous things - because, well, that's natural - but the level to which the audience is supposed to be rooting for them to do them. On Show A, for instance, you expect skeezy types to get tossed into the occasional wall, and feel slightly miffed when there is no tossing. On Show B, looking at a suspect cross-eyed is a no-no. Numb3rs seems to be one of the more black and white of the crew: the good guys do not cross the line, or at least angst for a very, very long time if they do. (I still haven't figured out if Edgerton is actually supposed to be a good guy.) On other shows, no one would blink. Seriously. Gibbs...  Yeah.

I could say that I absolutely thought that the company owner was going to be the evildoer, just because he was far too visible. I figured we'd find out the prototype didn't actually do squat, and the whole mess was a really nasty coverup. Not logistically possible, maybe, in retrospect, but I was distracted by certain other factors. All in all, while the drugrunner from Outer Plot Mongolia was a little like saying the monkey did it, I definitely preferred the mysterious stranger explanation.

All of this totally means nothing, though. I really spent the whole thing thinking:

1. David and Colby are pretty, and still deserve more fic. Damn it.

2. Edgerton kicks ass. The end.
