I really, really need to watch it again, this time without the distractions of a mother who is apparently phobic about this particular badie (who knew?) and a father who's not really that into the show.
That said,
That said,
oh lordy. Ouch. Just... all the way through, ouch.
I like the new crew thus far. Ash in particular, not the least because I have an established thing for characters who are far, far more than they seem. I think it's related to the fairytale plots wherein the lowly servant turns out to be a princess, etc., except I'm apparently just as amused when you substitute 'possibly drunken slacker' for 'servant' and 'mathematical/technical genius' for 'princess'. (And yes, I did just flash to John Sheppard. Shut up.)
Granted, I need to go back and check, but there was a moment there that made me go hmm. I have this weird sensation - and this is a left field guess, folks, since I'm unspoiled and trying to stay that way - that it would be a really bad idea for Dean to hit on Jo. As in, their children would be inbred. Just wild speculation, based solely on that last scene in the bar, and the way Ellen got all funny when Dean tried to work himself up to a decent come-on. Then again, I may just be nuts.
Dean crumbling at the end, though. Oh. I love the parallel with the Bloody Mary smash.
And that's all I can really say until I get to scrutinize in detail. Thoughts?
