If all goes as it's been going, the story that ate my brain should conclude within the next day or so. I fear I cannot be the least bit objective about it, though, so... would any of you amazing and lovely people be up for a beta? Anything from word/grammar critique to "What the heck were you thinking!?" would be highly appreciated.

The tech specs: It's McKay/Sheppard, probably about 8,000 words when complete, contains some very necessary sex, and is a sequel/explanation for this.

Any takers?

I'm willing to take a look at it. I love to beta. Might be a day or two before I get a chance, though.

Hee. Might be a day or two before I get it finished. *g* In all honesty, the beauty of this one is that there's no set schedule on it. I tend to like to post mostly on the weekends (let's me get a head start on answering any comments before the week crunches me up into a tiny, stressed ball *g*), but I'm flexible about that. Whatever time you'd like to keep is fine by me.

Should be bouncing its way toward you by Friday, I think, or tonight if I get particularly inspired. Thank you!

Er, perhaps contact info would be good. *cough* scumthecourtfool@hotmail.com

Do you prefer general comment-type betaing, or red-pen-and-highlighter jobs? Because I can be vague to the point of unhelpfulness or so anal-retentive and picky you want to smash me over the head with a brick - whatever your want, I'll do it! *beams*

Pshaw. We don't need no stinking contact info. We have the hive mind. *g*

The brick option sounds rather stressful (first there's finding the brick, then sneaking it through airport security, not to mention calculating the time difference...), but I never turn down a red-pen-and-highlighter job. As [livejournal.com profile] raucousraven can tell you, I've been known to ignore perfectly sage advise in quest of style, but not often. Since I'm usually a channel-type writer (I see it, I write it, no real planning involved), the end results tend to take me completely by surprise. Mostly, posting is like streaking: I really prefer to know and fix the imperfections before I run around showing the goods.

And, you know, you need a good pair of sneakers and fast feet. *g*

With this one, I have the feeling it is either utter crap or rather decent, and that's a little worrisome. When it does actually close, I'll read over it, hmm a bit, and ship it your way. If life is kind, this may happen rather late tonight.

Thank you for braving my insanity!

::does a joy dance:: Dude, if I didn't have to finish writing my final paper and go to work tomorrow, I would so be your bitch *g*

But I'm really, really looking forward to the finished product :D :D

Hee. Fingers crossed the finished product is worth the anticipation. I think I like it, which always freaks me out :>

Hope the paper progresses well!

You don't know me from Adam, but if you want a beta I'll volunteer and put my hand up. I am not strongest on grammar although I can spot where it is wrong and easily pick up awkward phrasing. When it comes to the feel of a story, flow, continuity and annoying suggestions on getting clarity in places, then I can do that easily. Also I am fairly decent at solving problems when blocks happen. If nothing else I can spell!

You've been hanging around here long enough to be a familiar face *g*

I'd definitely appreciate a read-through, if you're up for it. Also, I can't spell worth a darn, and my spellcheck... has issues. Any input you'd care to provide would be great, be it on content or word choice.

With a little bit of luck, I'll get it wrapped up this afternoon and have it headed in your direction. Thank you!

Gotta be sure, I've been known to confuse myself with Adam. Erm. Yes, that did not sound right!

I have spell check facilities in my head and in my computer. combined we shall spot any horrid errors. I shall even try not to spell like an English person.

Off to read now. *g*
