WaT ep commentary
Oct. 13th, 2005 11:03 pmGoing to try my hand at commentating during an episode. Please don't expect either brilliance or epic length. If you don't wish to be spoiled, avoid the cut below.
Hee. It's petty, I realize this, but Martin snapping at Sam filled me with unholy glee. Intellectually, I want them to be friends. On a visceral level, though, I'm kinda chanting for her to back away slowly. Hmm. Looks like I'm conflicted.
I know I shouldn't, but I like the new girl. She's not as abrasive as I expected, and she's smart. Plus, her chemistry with both Sam and Jack is good. Although, yeah, the meeting Danny scene has me a little freaked. Please let the writers not do what I fear they might.
Oh. My. God. Sandwich Love: the Sequel. I squeed like a mad thing. And they were normal with each other. Wow, we kinda skipped the whole transition from "I can't stand to look at you" to "here, have a bite".
Hey, it's a set up... At least I think so. Oh, and hey, comeuppance to the new girl. This can't end well, though. She still hasn't turned up, so she's probably dead. Damn. I liked her, in a crack-whore with a heart of gold kind of way.
Oh, that bastard. Is there ever a male social worker on TV who doesn't turn out to be a bad guy? Just once, I want a plot with one that doesn't become the equivalent of "the butler did it".
Hey, she's alive! Could we actually get a happy ending out of this one? Yes, I think we will. Yay.
Okay, let me preface this by saying I'm not a femslasher by nature. It's just not something I pick up on, really. If I notice it, it's gotta be blatant as hell. So, when I say that Sam and the new girl are way beyond the subtext... Come on, that scene where they found the girl? They were so very eying each other with intent.
So, yeah, those are my thoughts on 4x03. Huh.
