I loved your thoughts and I pretty much agree with them. Both infirmary scenes with Rodney and Carson really didn't rub me the right way. I have no idea what it is between them, but everytime they're on screen together, Carson's acting like a total jerk. They're friends, okay, but most of what Carson does is bring Rodney down, with his indulgent and stabby remarks. It bugs me, has bugged me for a long time. Especially if there's a third person in the room, the chances that Carson will take their side are huge. Which makes him look like a bit of a suck-up.
Caldwell had every right to be that bitchy. I may have uttered 'ooooh burn' to Elizabeth, when he reminded her that she was willing to sacrifice his crew a few episodes ago. And John was acting irrational, I have to admit. They're trying to demonize Caldwell so hard, and it's just not working for me. He may be a bit on the boring, deus-ex-machina-y side sometimes, but he is not evil. Please.
- The tattoo predates runnership. Interesting. Heh, I caught that as well. Wedding symbol??
