John breathed a laugh and Rodney sighed. “Yes, of course you noticed the getting shot, but I was hoping you might have been fuzzier on the who.”
I love that fanfic doesn't skim past these things - Rodney's so far shot Ford and John both. For a scientist, his aim's pretty damn good. *g*
His breathing was just deep and even enough that Rodney likely thought he was asleep when John heard, “This. This helps.”
Oh, God, yes. *breathes out* Yes. I loved how subtle the relationship between them was - all in the things that weren't said. And Teyla and John's casual understanding of one another, Rodney perched in front of the TV like a four-year old watching cartoons (and I can't quite get the image of him in the photo still from "A Dog's Breakfast" out of my head when I think of that post - DH naked!!). X-files, and Scully/Mulder, and Delorean. The dialogue was fantastic and the quiet moments in between were lovely.
If this is only a placeholder fic ... well, I can't wait to see what other ideas are lurking around the corner.
