What I am up to this week:

One possible spoiler for the Canadian SGA bounty, but it is both sideways and small. Really. If you get it, you've probably seen it.

1. Watching my phone not ring.

The School (capitalized to indicate that it is, in fact, my very first choice of them all) has been calling all accepteds for the last week. It's gotten to the point where I'm not calling anyone, and I'm giving glares of great doom to anyone in the family who stays on longer than it takes to make whoever they're speaking with call them back on a cell.

Nevertheless, tomorrow is the very last day of possibility - supposedly - and there's been not a peep.

This sucks.

2. Watching all the shiny things I've been collecting.

To wit:

2a. Torchwood. Seriously, just... you have turned out to be totally worth the aggravation. (Yes, Gwen, I'm looking at you. You too, Owen.) Despite the fact that I wasn't sure whether I'd be sticking with you (even with Jack and Ianto and Tosh), that last batch of episodes made me sure of my love. When you guys get it right, you really, really do.

2b. SGA. Oh, how I missed you. I'd forgotten how much, and then you come in with such sparkling glee that I wonder what the hell I was thinking to wait this long. I'm still only up to the one with the giant, male Sam, and already I want to hug you like a long-lost teddy bear. I think I will need to do commentaries, just for my own personal squee factor (since everything interesting has already undoubtedly been stored up in all those posts I haven't been reading).

2c. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Dude, how did you get away with being a huge threesome love affair? Val Kilmer, how are you so awesome? Robert Downey Jr., where did you develop that puppy-mushed-by-a-zamboni aura that makes it impossible to hold the fact that you are a schmuck against you?

3. Eying up the things I still need to watch.

As in:

3a. More SGA. Enough said.

3b. Neverwhere.

3c. The rest of Six Feet Under. Heh. I made a funny.

4. Writing!!!

Yes, you read that right. There have been words. Committed to... well, not paper, but existence, yeah? Ignore the fact that they are for a movie that I am only reasonably sure one of you has seen. Also, that much of my time has been spent pondering the eternal question, "Is that too emo for The Rock?"

The point is... words! More than a thousand of them, in one place, and growing! I feel marginally productive in at least one arena of my life! Whee!

(Incidentally, anybody else out there who has seen The Rundown - and is not [personal profile] strifechaos, which would just be silly - who might at some point in the not too distant future be willing to answer that aforementioned question for me? Perhaps in the form of a beta?)

Next up, more fun with John and Rodney. I think. I'm going back to those prompts if it kills me.

5. Not Watching Supernatural. *sigh*

Watching a play put on by high school drama students instead, which I have decided is the equivalent of witnessing a very slow, very young train wreck. As a brilliant mind once put it, love makes you do the wacky. And so, oh Sister's Boy, let it be known that we adore you.

Off to stare obsessively at the usual suspects in hopes of speedy episode appearance. Please, please do not spoil me, but... was it good? Like, on a scale of Route 666 to As I Lay Dying?

*pets you about The School Thing*

Don't lose your faith, baby.

In other news, nothing is too emo for the Rock.

*hugs you*

Trying not to. The odds aren't with me just now, but then a huge number of my fellows don't get in on the first try either. On the plus side, I'm not quite as crushed as I thought I'd be. Not sure whether that's because I'm delayed-reactioning like a crazy person, or just that I suspected it might not happen and already moved on after that mess with the other school. I'm apparently skipping merrily over the flailing and miserable stage, and heading for practicality and figuring out what to do with myself until the next round of applications. *shrug*

As for the Rock: *snort laugh* This is true wisdom. *nods* I must hold to this principle, even should he weep huge, muscled tears of manpain.

(Although, in the context of this fic, it's more likely that he'll go break things. Lots of things. With bare hands. Right after he makes a truly kick-ass tortellini dinner. *headshake* Seriously, they were smoking the good stuff when they scripted this movie.)

There are no words for how much I love this movie. I don't think I stopped laughing the entire time I was watching when I went to the cinema to see it. Good thing everyone eles ein the auditorium was howling as well, or that could have been embarrassing :D

It totally caught me by surprise! I'd snagged it at some stage and never gotten around to watching it, and then forgotten its very existence. And then Yuletide came, and I saw some entries for it, and the memory flared to life.

Just one more reason Yuletide rules, I guess.*g*

*grin*

There is a certain dizzy glee involved with SGA isn't there? I was rewatching season 2 (DVDs arrived) and wow. The light was on and I just wanted to sort of snuggle it silly with the snuggling and the oh you children in another galaxy how you make me smile.

Must get the last season of Six Feet Under from that friend. They kept moving it all over the tv schedule and I never saw it then and I kinda want to. If they have the other dvds now... I might just have a recap and wallow. :)

Yay! Writing! *does the dance of writing joy* Even if the school is so stupid as to not take you (thereby guaranteeing in my book that it shall be forever referred to as 'school of stupid') then at least there is writing in the air. Makes me gleeful

There so is. And prolonged lack of exposure apparently makes me utterly fail to remember just how much. The result is like a headrush of happy. *g*

I might just have a recap and wallow. :)

Six Feet Under seems like that sort of show. *nods* I'm endlessly amused that it is my neighor's new obsession. A couple years ago, she wanted The Soprano's for her birthday, too, so this is not without precedent. The fact that she is a sweet, seventy-something little lady who spends most of her time feeding stray cats and clothing the underpriviledged just tends to make for some cognitive dissonance. *g*

School of Stupid. *giggle* I like it. So let it be writen, etc. *g*

*joins you in the dance of writing joy*

It is like drinking an entire bottle of champagne on an empty stomach... silly, insane and woooah.. headrush!

*grin*

Oh and if you wanted to write me something? If, and when you see the episode Sunday .... you could always write me a J/R episode tag.

*hopeful*

Or you know, finish one of the wips... or the earlier prompts. Whichever suits you bestest.

*sigh* I should even put this over where it is relevant.

SGA has been making me SO HAPPY!!! I think my heart has, Grinch-like, grown two sizes too big.

Which, of course, immediately threw into my head:

And then Fandom's small heart
Grew three sizes that day,
Thanks whole or in part
To our Rodney McKay!

Seriously. I need to get out more. *headdesk*

But yes, SO HAPPY!!! Flailingly so, even. *g*
