Rambles - mostly fannish in origin - and a meme.
I am somewhat addicted to list form lately. Sorry.
1. I so totally failed to be in any way productive today. Ordinarily, this wouldn't be a problem; procrastination and I are old friends. Given that finals are the week after this coming one, though... yeah. Might want to get on that studying thing. *sigh*
2. I have achieved a relationship with my local Chinese restaurant. I walked in tonight, got out about two words of my order, and the lady behind the counter grinned and finished it for me. (Yes, I am that predictable. *g*) Then she made me have tea, because "it's cold out there, and you aren't dressed warmly enough." We spent the wait time talking about school and how it's been going. I'm from a small town. I like knowing people, and being known. These things make me happy.
3. I spent last night cuddled up with pizza, Wyatt, and Hot Fuzz. I love that movie beyond reason. I love that I catch something new every time that makes me giggle. I love that the one-liners are fantastic. I love the swan. I love that they slashed it up like crazy, and then utterly, utterly failed to do that laugh/shrug combo of "Ha ha. Just kidding. Here's the het love interest," and instead left it as is. I love that it is an action movie spoof while still being one of the better action movies I've seen in years. *happy sigh*

4. I'm not sure whether to catch up on SG:A now, or hoard it until after finals and binge desperately. On the one hand, I've been hanging on this cliff for the last two weeks already and I want to see what happens; on the other, it will be really sweet to mainline them all when I don't have to make my brain work anymore and can purely enjoy. Hm.
5. This week's Supernatural made me laugh like a hyena. Batman. Heh.
6. That Soundtrack of Your Life music meme I gacked from
ignipes:
1. Open your music library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc.).
2. Put it on shuffle and press play.
3. For every question, type the song that's playing. When you go to a new question, go to the next song.
4. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.
Opening Credits: “Asleep In Perfection” by Augie March
Well, kind of trippy, but it sets up the next scene well.
Waking Up: “Immigrant Stomp” by Scythian
Definitely a wake up song. Oh, yeah. *boogies to the fiddles*
Falling in Love: “Concerning Hobbits” from Fellowship of The Ring ST
Uh… so, I should be on the lookout for short, furry men with big feet? Hm. This would be the place to make a 'big feet' joke, and yet... well, hobbits. I have issues with hobbits and sex in the same context. This could signal marital problems, come to think of it.
Fight Song: “Wild West Show” by Big & Rich
Heh. A song about a fight. What do you know?
Breaking Up: “Ghost in this House” by Alison Krauss and Union Station
Ouch. Not a good breakup, then. (Although, side note: I adore this song.)
Prom: “Arms of a Woman” by Amos Lee
Huh. Not exactly. That wouldn't quite have flown at my high school, methinks. Although I hear they've gotten better lately.
Life is Good: “Letter From Belgium” by The Mountain Goats
What does this mean? I need to go in for international travel to have a good time? You've got me. *shrug*
Mental Breakdown: “Hate Me” by Blue October
No, honestly, I could not have planned this. Heh. My shufflefu is a scary thing.
Driving: “The Last Last One” by The Weakerthans
Well, it’s got the right flow to it. Definitely more of an I’m-leaving-you-and-not-coming-back-oh-and-I-took-the-dog song than one made for a road trip, but it works.
Flashback: “Finale: The Promise of Living” by Aaron Copland
Good choice, iTunes. This would be a gentle look at things that were, building to a nice climactic resolve. Also, pretty.
Getting Back Together: “On the Radio” by Regina Spektor
Uh. Considering this one is forever tied in my head to the video which is tied to the fic which I cannot reread because I will cry like a baby… perhaps not the best choice of hopeful songs.
Wedding: “House Carpenter” by Nickel Creek
Wow. That's depressing. It's like a trifecta of bummerness: we get double unfaithfulness, abandonment and death.
Night Before the War: “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” by Joe Nichols
Well, it’s going to be an interesting war, at least.
Final Battle: “Crazy” by Barenaked Ladies
Heh. Like I said, an interesting war.
Moment of Triumph: “Party Generation” by Dar Williams
Okay, seriously, is this the disco war? Do we Macarena to the death?
Death Scene: “God’s Silence” by the Eels.
Well, that’s not very nice.
Funeral Song: “Train in the Rain” from the Firefly ST
Um. Well, at least it’s upbeat, despite the title. I have no idea what to do with this. Possibly it's more of a wake? I always wanted more of a wake, personally. Yes, I've thought about this. Shut up. You have, too.
End credits: “Sugar We’re Going Down Swinging” (acoustic) by Fall Out Boy
Appropriate. I like it; defiant, fatalistic, and yet bizarrely hopeful. I can deal with that.

7. I want to write stuff. Why is it I always most want to write stuff when I have the least time to actually do it? Bah.
8. And lastly, I've got my rambles about Doppelganger unlocked over here now.
