The really interesting thing is that, in Grace Under Pressure, McKay focuses primarily on the technical shortcomings of his potential rescuers. I don't know that it's necessarily that he's confident they like him enough to want to save him, but he believes enough in his value to them as a commodity. Sheppard, not so much. Hmm.
And, yes, this ep diffinitely needs lots of fic. Of course, I think there should be more fic for everything, but then I'm just like that :>
