I kind of think poor Arthur is really not used to saying what's actually on his mind, or - maybe more importantly - having anyone listen when he does. As a consequence, I imagine him having this whole commentary in his head about just about everything, and because he's Arthur, most of it's snarky as all hell. It's when he has the chance to make it external that the rest of the world's in trouble. *g*
